
Gale took part in a modeling competition in Perth aged 18 years old. After many years of modeling Gale gained notoriety when in 1999 was cast to appear in a series of ads for an Italian telecom company called Omnitel (now Vodafone Italy) She was a part of the advertisement of the company up to 2006. The Australian Tourist Commission also hired her in 2003 to be the "face for Australia" on the continent of Italy. Gale has been featured on the covers of Australian Marie Claire, Grazia, Gioia, Italian and Australian GQ, Italian Maxim, Australian InStyle and featured in editorials of Australian Cosmopolitan as well as Vogue Italia. Gale has worked as a model at Italian fashion houses, including Gianfranco Ferre, Genny, Gai Mattiolo and also runway in the fashion houses of Mariella Burani as well as Angelo Marani at Milan Fashion Week. Gale has also been a big fan of a variety of Australian designers like Colette Dinnigan, Kirrily Johnston, Lisa Ho, Willow and Alex Perry. The year 2006 was the last time she was moderator of the Australian awards on television, called the Logies. In January 2008, Gale announced her retirement from modeling on runways after 15 years. She took to the catwalk for the last time only a couple of weeks later at the David Jones winter collection launch in Sydney. Her final outfit was the Wonder Woman outfit she was to wear in the upcoming production Justice League of America. Gale ended the Alex Perry 2011 Melbourne Fashion Festival in March of 2011. Gale also celebrated her 10th anniversary at David Jones in August 2011, the longest fashion contract in the history of an Australian. Gale was appointed ambassador for L'Oreal Paris the same month. She was joined by Beyonce Jennifer Lopez Gwen Stefani. Gale played a role in a L'Oreal Shampoo commercial that was telecast in Australia, New Zealand, as well as Italy.
